St. Albert painter Al Anderson opens a solo show at the Bookstore on Perron art gallery for the month of May.
A member of St. Albert’s Painters Guild since 1978, he has travelled across Canada’s 10 provinces. He became inspired by the diversity of landscapes which he replicates in a realistic style.
For the past decade, the bookstore gallery has hosted ArtWalk’s summer season. But when ArtWalk was cancelled this year, Anderson approached bookstore owners to host an exhibition.
“It all happened so fast, I didn’t have a chance to think of theme. It’s pretty much a selection of my artwork,” said Anderson.
The exhibition is composed of 35 paintings of prairie landscapes and British Columbia vistas that include forests, mountainscapes, floral gardens, old farm homesteads and vast fields.
The art show runs until May 31. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
